In the second block, 22 participants of the young designers competition from Shanghai, Moscow, Kemerovo, Samara, Ulyanovsk and Dimitrovgrad showed their collections on the podium. This year, as the organizers noted, the Ulyanovsk region was represented by very strong designers and works.
The international jury included: fashion expert Danilo Mercaldo (Milan), Professor of the Department of Design at Shanghai State University Bing Chen (China), President of the Fashion Association.Russian Federation, Chairman of the Committee on Digital Technologies "Soyuzlegprom" Anton Alfer (Moscow), head of the multi-channel platform "Fashion magazin" Yulia Kolobova (Moscow), architect of the innovative system and model of promotion of goods and services of the magazine "Fashion magazin" Denis Fomin (Moscow), correspondent of RIA Moda Irina Shchelkunova (Moscow) and director of the Lexus showroom in Togliatti Marina Antonyuk.
The winner of the competition was 8-year-old Naima Rezvanova from Ulyanovsk. The girl created the collection "Frida's Mysterious Garden". She received the main prize for participation in the competition of young designers in Milan, as well as the opportunity to present her collection at Shanghai State University in China.
"I study in the first grade, I like to draw and dress up beautifully. Frida is my favorite artist. I saw her portrait and was inspired by it. I came up with all the models and drew them myself, and my mother helped me choose the fabric. I went to the podium as a model in my favorite dress with an embroidered portrait of Frida, flamingos and flowers. I plan to make a collection with unicorns and mermaids," Naima said.
The second place was taken by a designer from Samara Alsu Biryukova. At the competition, she presented the Silk Road collection.
The third place went to the atelier from Kemerovo Sportstyle, which presented a collection for young gymnasts "Crystal threads".
A special prize from the partners of Fashion Week, the Lexus-Togliatti car dealership, received Ekaterina Snegireva from Ulyanovsk, who showed a collection of "Tattoos for your clothes".
Another special prize – from the magazine and the multi-channel platform «Fashion magazin» was received by a designer from Dimitrovgrad Victoria Gayevskaya. She presented the collection "Grandmother's hands". This exit became one of the most touching moments of the grand show: Victoria dedicated the work to her grandmother, 86-year-old Valentina Alexandrovna, who specially came to the granddaughter's show in Ulyanovsk and sat in the front row.
Victoria has been designing clothes for only a year: she presented her first collection in 2018. She is a financier by education, but since childhood she dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. Victoria calls herself an eco-friendly designer, an adherent of conscious fashion. She uses natural materials (cotton, hemp), revives ancient crafts in a modern interpretation, prefers waste-free production.
"By dedicating the collection to my grandmother, I wanted to show that creativity lives on, is passed down from generation to generation. My grandmother created amazing things -embroidery, handmade carpets. She inspired me. I am a designer who mixes and transforms technologies, revives crafts. In my collection, I used the technology of making beads, which is almost lost today, showed embroidery in prints. This is our heritage, it should be protected, proud of it », said Victoria.
Ulyanovsk Fashion Week 2019 was held with the support of the Ulyanovsk Region Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Corporation and the Ulyanovsk Cultural Capital Foundation.
"Maintaining fashion should be fashionable for the authorities. Creative industries are the locomotive of light industry. More than 50 companies work in this area in our region today. Fashion Week is a central platform for them, where you can show what you have achieved and understand how to develop further," said Ruslan Gainetdinov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation .
"We live in a global world, and I think that no matter what we wear: French, Chinese, Russian, it's important who wears it. I am sure that fashion, among other things, forms this attitude, this culture of a person. Such events are important for the industry representatives themselves. It is very important that the professional community moves to another, higher stage of development, and Fashion Week contributes to this," explained the director of the foundation "Ulyanovsk" cultural capital"Tatiana Ivshina.
"This year's Fashion Week in Ulyanovsk has an amazing geography:guests have arrived to us not only from different cities of Russia, but also from Italy and China. This event is an important impetus for the development of the fashion industry and light industry in our region. We show you what you can and should strive for, give you the opportunity to prove yourself and demonstrate your abilities. Thank you to everyone who appreciates and understands the importance of this matter and supports us," concluded Alice Bogatova, General producer and chief organizer of Ulyanovsk Fashion Week.
