The mall "Aviapark" will be home to the first store IKEA in the central part of the city. Until now, since the Swedish company entered the Russian market in the late 90s, the development of IKEA in our country has been only in conjunction with MEGA shopping center The chain's stores acted as the anchor tenant of the shopping complex. Around the world, the company's practice was different: stores were located in separate buildings outside cities, or became tenants of third-party shopping complexes.

The new store will open on June 27 and will be called IKEA Khodynskoe floorE.  It will occupy an area of 7,700 square meters on the 3rd and 4th floors of the shopping center «Aviapark», located next to the metro station «CSKA». Buyers will be presented with a wide range of household goods, while it will be possible to pick up purchases, including small furniture at once. The purchase of bulky items is carried out through an order with home delivery.

CEO of the IKEA retail chain in Russia Pontus Erntell stressed that the opening of the first IKEA store in the center of Moscow is a global event. "We come to the city, we become closer to the residents of the capital. I am looking forward to the moment when very soon, on June 27, IKEA Khodynskoye Field will open its doors to the first visitors, and I hope that Muscovites and guests of the city will like the new store," he added.
