"Digital Looking glass: a billion pixels"

October 24 at the gallery «Nagornaya» The third exhibition of the interregional project opens with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Department of Culture of Moscow, the Russian Academy of Arts, the Creative Union of Artists of Russia and the Foundation for the Development of Contemporary Art. «Digital looking glass: a billion pixels». The project includes works by the country's leading digital artists and will present the latest digital technologies in the visual arts.

 

 

Every year, the art based on digital technologies finds new supporters. Highly sensitive matrices and computer algorithms compete with traditional visual media on an equal footing. Digital Art expands and mixes the boundaries of old genres. The new world has a digital language. The range of digital aesthetics is limited only by the artist's imagination. Immaculate realism and documentary fixation of fantastic landscapes are available to her, she combines commercial gloss and museum rigor. A digital image is nothing more than an ordered set of pixels, but perceiving it through the senses, the human brain gives rise to illusions comparable in reliability to the surrounding reality. There is no longer a boundary between the figure and reality.

 

The third exhibition "Digital Looking Glass: a billion pixels" includes interactive projections and stereo panels, as well as works made in classical techniques, but dedicated to the new digital world.Here you can immerse yourself in augmented reality and become a participant in 3D installations.

 

 

Among the project participants: Konstantin Khudyakov, Mikhail Zaikin, Valentin Korzhov, Alexey Belyaev-Gintovt, Alexander Zakharov, Gleb Kosorukov, Maxim Svishchev, Alexey Andreev, Anton Batishev, Andronik Poloz and others. Curator – Arseniy Steiner.

 

Opening hours of the exhibition: from October 20 to November 28, 2017, 11:00–20:00. Monday is a day off.
