The second life of things from UNIQLO

UNIQLO in cooperation with the HSE School of Design in support of the UNIQLO Recycle program in Russia for the second time presents a series of unique models created by students from the brand's used clothing.

In the process of creating their collections, designers experimented with the form and various stylization techniques of old clothes, using recycling, deconstruction and turning the old into the new using the upcycling technique. Students worked with various handicraft, traditional and artisanal techniques, the essence of which is manual labor. The art project involves the brand's clothing that was collected as part of the UNIQLO Recycle initiative, but was not subject to further transfer due to its condition. The created garments are exhibits and are not intended for sale.

From December 7 to February 28, 2019, the collection can be seen in the UNIQLO Atrium store on the third floor. In December, the first 3 student projects – UNMASTERED, KIMONO x CANS and WEAVING TECHNIQUE are presented here. The exposition will be updated every month.

Everyone who wants to support the project can leave unnecessary clean clothes in special boxes located in each brand store. Things in good condition are redistributed and transferred to needy families and those who are in a difficult life situation.
