From February 20 to 22, the 9th International Exhibition of Technical Textiles and Nonwovens Techtextil Russia 2017 was successfully held at the Expocentre Fairgrounds.

Technical textiles and equipment for their production are recognized as the main factor in the development of the Russian textile and light industry. This sub-sector is actively stimulated and supported by government structures at the regional and federal levels. Market players, realizing the importance of this industry, are increasing production capacity, actively engaged in the transfer of foreign technologies in this area, as well as localization of production. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Yevtukhov at the opening of the Russian Textile and Light Industry Week noted an increase in the production of technical textiles, including nonwovens, which amounted to 26.6%. And the production of workwear and personal protective equipment increased by almost 40%.

In 2017, despite the extraordinary nature of the exhibition "Techtextil" (now it takes place annually) and its organization in the shortest possible time, the site hosted 67 participating companies from 10 countries, including Belarus, Belgium, Poland, the Czech Republic, Italy, China and, of course, Russia. The exposition of the European Pavilion, where both permanent participants and new ones were presented, received increased attention.

The exposition of domestic companies of the technical textiles and nonwovens market was presented by such companies as "Ivanovoiskozh", APO "Aleko Polymers", as well as the company "Sintex", which recently entered the technical textiles market. Belarus was represented by such market leaders and already regular participants of the exhibition as "Mogilevkhimvolokno" and "Ruchayka".

Industry professionals continue to positively evaluate the joint holding of the exhibitions Techtextil Russia and Inlegmash, since in this format guests were able to attend both events at the same venue at once, as well as discuss a wide range of topical issues and outline ways to solve the tasks set.
