Prime Wardrobe от Amazon
Apparently, Amazon will soon open access to its Prime Wardrobe service to more customers. The trading service "try on before you buy", first announced by the company in June 2017, aims to beat competitors such as Stitch Fix, Trunk Club, Wantable and others.
Last year, Prime Wardrobe was available in beta and by invitation only, and Amazon claims that this is still the case. However, Twitter recently hosted a whole wave of posts with user comments about the new Amazon service, including from the accounts of Amazon itself and its employees. Unfortunately, the tweet on the official profile of Amazon was deleted, but remained in the history of Google. Before it was deleted, it said: "Amazon Prime Wardrobe officially launched! Hurray! It was a fun project that was fun to work on."
Initially, representatives of Amazon denied that anything had changed regarding Prime Wardrobe, stating that the service is still in beta testing. After presenting numerous tweets, the representative of the company nevertheless explained that the Amazon Fashion team had expanded the program for more customers.
Amazon refused to specify how many people tested the service earlier or how many were added in this extended test. But, of course, since a year has passed since the first application for the introduction of the service, the service should soon become available to a wide range of users. Stitch Fix has an IPO'd, and Gwynnie Bee has launched its own subscription platform for individual sellers. The time has come for Amazon. Prime Wardrobe can be a strategic advantage for Amazon in the online clothing market, as well as a means to increase subscriptions.
The service was developed to solve one of the most difficult problems of online shopping in the field of clothing fitting. It is often very difficult to determine how this or that thing will sit, with only a photo or even a video at hand. Models have different proportions than most buyers, and clothing manufacturers define their size range differently. In addition, it is impossible to determine the quality of the fabric at first glance. Previously, this led to some people refusing to buy clothes online. However clothing still remains one of the fastest growing categories of goods on the Internet. That's why Walmart bought ShoeBuy, Bonobos and ModCloth.
To use the service Prime Wardrobe, you need to choose from 3 to 8 items (clothes, shoes or accessories), order delivery, and upon receipt within 7 days try on the selected at home before paying. A prepaid UPS label is included in the delivery kit, so you can return items that you don't want to keep. Prime Wardrobe is intended only for Amazon Prime subscribers, however, some purchase conditions differ from those familiar to Prime members. So, since several items are included in the order, the shipment is carried out within 4–6 days instead of two.
Although the number of users Prime Wardrobe it has clearly increased, Amazon does not yet name the period during which all Prime subscribers will receive access to the service.
