As reported in the department, kotonin – this is a completely new agricultural product for the regional agro-industrial complex. The fine-fiber, cotton-like material resembles natural cotton, which is used for the manufacture of knitwear, cotton wool, nonwovens and so on.
«This year it is planned to modernize Mozhginsky flax plant, and in 2019 to establish the production of cotonized fiber on these areas, – reported Olga Abramova. She also clarified that the potential investor of the project made such a decision after a trip as part of a delegation from Udmurtia to Belarus, where they got acquainted with the work of a local large flax processing enterprise, held negotiations on the design of a flax plant from the zero cycle and reconstruction of an existing one.
Projects for the revival of the linen complex are also being considered in other regions of the republic, for example in Igrinsky. Abramova noted that the relevant department will develop state support measures for existing flax mills.
