Interview with Victoria Andreyanova
The fashion designer who turned the world of uniforms upside down and showed that it is possible to creatively approach the most seemingly simple and routine tasks, the author of the most diverse elegant catwalk outfits Victoria Andreyanova answered "MM" 10 personal questions.
Victoria, why did you decide to engage in the fashion industry?
"When I was a child, I was nicknamed the bark beetle because I cut clothes out of curtains with scissors. With such aspirations, the fashion industry promised me the most attractive future. My family saw me as a journalist, because the dynasty is always a beautiful story. But they also warmly supported me and didn't even really scold me for curtains or for other creative experiments.
– Which of the famous people of the present and the past do you look like, who is close to you?
"I'm obsessed with work, like Edison, I believe in the power of imagination, like Jung, and I always know that the most interesting things are on the horizon, like Vasco da Gama. Other people's success stories can be great helpers on our own path. You just need to make sure that the biographer does not get too carried away with owls falls and miracles. The rule of "90% of labor for 10% of talent" has not been canceled yet.
– What do you know how to do best?
– I know how to make the best coats in the world.
– Is your favorite book or movie?
– The book – the brilliant entourage of «The Great Gatsby », the film – magical «8 with polovina». My daughter Lisa starts her career as an avant-garde designer, and it is in Fellini that I find many parallels with her creative experiments. By the way, her self-confidence is also completely phantasmagoric.
– Your favorite dish?
– Half a kingdom for cheesecake, smoked fish, buckwheat with butter, sauerkraut, liver fritters, foie gras, sweet-smelling French cheese, fermented chicken eggs on kiThai maner and mushroom soup with Borodino croutons.
– What kind of food will you never eat?
My family knows that I'm crazy about everything that others will never eat. Traveling to Asia is my gastronomic Mecca. It's really easier for me to answer the question of what I'll never wear than what I'll never eat.
What are you proud of in life?
I am proud of the uniform for Aeroflot, Russian Railways, Auchan, collaboration with the Tretyakov Gallery and every thing that has changed someone's life. I am proud to be responsible for a large team of talented people, I am proud of their trust. I am proud that many dreams have come true thanks to not human efforts in these victories there is more happiness than in those that were given easily.
–You know for sure that you will get to a non-inhabited island, and you can take three items with you. Which ones and why?
– I will take with me three cuttings of my favorite currant. I plan to make sorbet and do not deny myself anything at all.
– Remember the funniest or special case from your business practice.
– At the dawn of business, my husband and partner iskrenne wondered: «Why do we need buttons when we already have one?"And it wasn't a joke! Today he distinguishes powdery fromshade from beige, as well as 18 methods of hand stitch.
If it weren't for the fashion industry, what would you like to do?
– I would feed people and admire their happy faces. I would pilot fighter jets. I would flip penguins in Antarctica. I would dance in the Moiseev ensemble. And I would be president somewhere in Iceland.
