In Georgia, they began to sew clothes for H&M

The products of a number of leading world brands will be sewn in Georgia. The garment factory, which opened in April 2018 in Kutaisi, took the first orders from the Swedish retailer H&M. High-quality women's and men's clothing produced at the factory using the latest technologies will be exported to European countries.

Currently, 130 people work at the factory.Production will be launched at full capacity in two months and the number of employees will increase to 250. Next year it is planned to increase the number of employees to 400.

The factory belongs to the Georgian-Romanian company MGMtex – a subsidiary of the Swiss firm Ottorose. The latter cooperates with such well-known brands as H&M, Mango, Zara, Coast, Colveta, United Collors of Benneton, Oasis and many others.

Investments in the project at the initial stage amounted to about 500 thousand dollars. At the next stage, the company plans to invest an additional $ 2 million. Due to the fact that MGMtex is a beneficiary of the agency "Produce in Georgia" (Enterprise Georgia), operating under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the company can use a preferential loan for the purchase of modern equipment for two years.

"Produce in Georgia" is a government program aimed at stimulating local production in the country. The aim of the program is to develop entrepreneurship in Georgia, which, in particular, involves the creation of new enterprises and increasing the competitiveness of the private sector and export potential, as well as promoting the availability of new technologies through technical assistance.
