On April 14 and 15, 2018, the Murmansk Regional Art Museum will host an open festival of young fashion designers and fashion designers «Fashion». The bright and large-scale festival has long been loved by the inhabitants of the Kola North and, undoubtedly, remains one of the key spring cultural events of the Arctic. In 2018, «modernization» takes place for the 19th time.

The festival is organized by the Government of the Murmansk Region, the Committee for Culture and Art of the Murmansk Region, the Murmansk Regional Art Museum and the Murmansk Regional Public branch of the Union of Artists of Russia.

21 creative teams from cities and towns of the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, the Republic of Karelia will take part in the 2018 "strong" event: young fashion designers, models, hairdressers, make-up artists and heads of creative teams.

Traditionally «The moderation » consists of three contests:

• «Revelation»: for novice fashion designers, creative teams, fashion theaters, fashion design and design studios, institutions of general and additional education up to 18 years;
• «ART-couture»: for students and students of professional educational institutions, for young professional fashion designers, fashion designers up to 30 years old;
• Sketch Contest «Best Graphic Work».

Nominations are announced in each competition. As part of the festival, the jury will select the winners, who will be awarded with diplomas and prizes. In addition, the jury will determine the holders of special diplomas in the contests of models, makeup artists, hairdressers and the winners of two Grand Prix of the Festival in the contests "Revelation" and "ART-couture".

Next year the festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Every year, in addition to regular participants, you can see collectives that take part in the «modernization» for the first time. Thus, the festival is growing, developing and expanding its borders.

The winners of the festival will receive an invitation to participate in the 40th International Competition of Young Fashion Designers (Moscow), which will be held on September 18, 2018 as part of the 51st Federal Fair "Tekstillegprom".
