In the Moscow shopping centers «Metropolis» and «Afimall City» two existing stores of the American brand of furniture and household goods Crate &Barrel will be closed.

The company has existed since 1962, and entered the Russian market in 2014. Initially, it was planned to open a number of stores in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg, but after the launch of two monostores, development stopped. 

Since 2014, control over Crate & Barrel belongs to the German group Otto, which in 2018 also closed online clothing stores in Russia Quelle and Otto, having decided to focus on the domestic market. 

Crate &Barrel is completely leaving the Russian market due to weak brand awareness and unpopularity of such formats of retail facilities.
