FASHION ILLUSTRATION Exhibition
The FASHION ILLUSTRATION exhibition, which was successfully held in May at the Kosygin Russian State University, combined an exposition of works by students, graduates and teachers of specialized departments of the university, a job fair and internships, as well as meetings and communication with potential employers and business and media industry practices.The exhibition also hosted a rich business program prepared by the portal FashionEducation.ru , with the participation of market experts, glossy and online media, fashion industry enterprises.
The exhibition was actively attended by: the Department of Special Composition (Head of the Department Mariat Ismailovna Alibekova), the Department of Costume and Fashion (Head of the Department Tatiana Vasilyevna Kozlova), the Department of Graphic Design and Visual Communications (Head of the Department Irina Nikolaevna Stora).
Presenting diplomas to the participants of the exhibition, advisor to the rector Marina Viktorovna Tishina noted that such events are important for the university to show the level of preparation of students for the fashion industry, and to give them the opportunity to successfully prepare for their future careers while still studying.
The round table«International and Business cooperation in the fashion industry» opened the business program of the exhibition on May 17. The round table was attended by speakers: Irina Karimova, head of the portal FashionEducation.ru and the School of Fashion Journalism, curator of the Design Communications Studio of the Russian State University. Kosygina; Annenkova Anna, head of the HAPPY COLLECTION boutique chain, distributor of MISSONI HOME, LALIQUE Voyage de Parfumeur, NINA RICCI Maison, BlUMARINE home in Russia; Yuri Marakulin, Union of Russian Buyers.During the round table, the speakers shared their experience of interaction and cooperation with different countries, told about the qualities that a young specialist needs to possess in order to work successfully at the international level.
The topic of career and employment was continued by Elena Zalesskaya, head of the recruitment agencyFashion Bureau, specializing in recruitment for the fashion industry. She told how to find interesting vacancies, correctly compose a resume and cover letter, and what trends in employment exist now.
The lecture-discussionFashion Law: How to protect copyright in the fashion industry, conducted by Anna Heinemann, a practicing lawyer, author of the book Fashion Law in Russia, aroused particular interest among all those present, because this topic is especially relevant for everyone who works in the creative field, and is not fully protected from copying their works. Anna told about the ways of legal protection of the brand, how to register a trademark correctly, and where to contact in case of its illegal use or copying of works. The listeners asked to continue this topic at the next meetings.
Completed the program of the first day of the business program Public Talk«Journalism in the Fashion industry», which was attended by Vera Ivanova, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine «Fashion Mmagazin» (ID «Arguments and the facts»). She told the audience which shots are in demand in the mass media, and how a designer can become interesting for the media.
On May 19, a lecture "Fashion Illustration in advertising" was held, which was conducted by N. A.Arkhipova (Kosygin Russian State University).On the same day, Marina Demchenko, the editor-in-chief of the Fashion Collection magazine network, came to the students. After talking with the guys and looking at the works of students and graduates, Marina chose several people who would be able to do an internship in the editorial office of the magazine, and said parting words to all participants of the exhibition.

At the end of the business program of the exhibition, all the participants were able to take part in a tour of the university, visit the famous Woolen Workshop (building No. 4) and the creative space MEDIAPRIDE, where fascinating master classes and photo shoots take place.
The participants of the exhibition Fashion Illustration 2017 also received an invitation from Anna Annenkova (Happy Collection) to visit their space in the Gallery "Fashion Season" on May 29, and discuss the format of internships and cooperation. Also, one of the leading Russian textile manufacturers for home and interior is preparing to make its offer for internships. The Union of Russian Buyers is ready to continue cooperation and present students' works at one of the international exhibitions at the end of this year, and to continue the format of participation in exhibitions and events of the university.
