Export of new time

The general trend of recent years towards the globalization of the economy is undoubtedly bearing fruit. Already today, domestic manufacturers, initially focused only on the local market, despite the huge scale of our country and the loyal to everything "Russian" consumer, are increasingly expanding the boundaries of sales. The modern generation of entrepreneurs has a broad outlook, a different degree of freedom of thinking, speaks several foreign languages, travels a lot, which in itself creates prerequisites for export, which acquires new forms and types, acquires relevant technological and logistical solutions. Now it is not only direct deliveries abroad, but also actively progressing online trading in the B2B and B2C sectors.

The state, represented by export centers, actively supports the export initiative, providing a wide range of services free of charge, such as:

  1. Export support in the form of consulting on customs clearance, logistics, currency control, trade restrictions, preparation of export contracts, calculations of duties payable in the destination country, patenting, VAT refund and other issues arising from a potential exporter.
  2. Promotion of Russian goods:participation in international exhibitions, business missions, formation of export catalogs, placement of Russian goods on foreign marketplaces (for example, Alibaba.com ).
  3. Partial or full compensation of the exporter's costs for certain types of established services - export credits, transportation, patenting and other costs.

In his Annual Address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the President set the task of increasing the volume of non-resource exports to $ 250 billion. According to Viktor Yevtukhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the export of Russian light industry in 2017 is already showing good results. By 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation plans to double the export potential of light industry enterprises. In order to increase it, we need to actively develop the domestic market. On May 29, 2018, at the annual meeting of the members of the Russian Union of Entrepreneurs of the Light and Textile Industry, all its participants agreed that without the support of domestic production it is impossible to increase the export potential of the country, in connection with which they proposed to perceive import substitution and the development of export potential as a single business process.

My consulting agency Just Logistics specializes in foreign trade support. Below I present the algorithm of interaction with potential exporters on the example of the most frequent questions about the processes of export administration.

  • stage 1 – making a decision on the supply of goods for export:
    • market research, search for potential buyers (participation in exhibitions, business missions, placement on electronic trading platforms, etc.);
    • choosing a trading partner;
    • checking the business reputation and solvency of the partner;
    • conducting negotiations for the purpose of concluding a contract.
  • stage 2 - study of all the features of the legislative regulation of exports:
    • export contract – form, content, requirements for registration;
    • currency control;
    • customs clearance;
    • transportation;
    • preparation of documents to confirm the right to VAT refund (application of zero VAT rate).

Work with professionals – this is the key to successful business and prosperity of your company!
