NEW YORK, ANALYSIS OF SS 19 IMPRESSIONS
Fashion Theme: DOSE
Dose is a society obsessed with gadgets and virtual reality. Computer games, trackers, social networks, chats, quick exchange of information – our daily life. In this theme, a noticeable color comes to the fore: monochrome sets or colorblocking.Dion Lee presented trousers and an elongated raincoat dress of bright blue color. Colorblocking – a combination of green, crimson and yellow is present in the Prabal Gurung dress model.
Fashion theme: "New Modern" (ETHOS)
Ethos is inspired by the new minimalism, the use of unique handmade decor. At New York Fashion Week, black and white colors were diluted with warm brown, terracotta and yellow.
Colors: Yellow
Yellow is not just an accent, but the main color of the spring-summer 2019 season in the collections at New York Fashion Week. Shades range from the color of sunlight to blonde and electric neon.
Patterns: Tai-dai
Partly inspired by surfer culture, the tai-dai technique is making a comeback. Watercolor stains create abstract forms, and the absence of hard lines reminds of a calm sea breeze.
Patterns: A combination of floral patterns
The designers of New York Fashion Week experimented as best they could, combining patterns of different graphics in one model: large and small flowers, the same pattern in different colors, flowers on a dark background and on a light one.
Materials: Knitting
Crocheting has become a major trend in the textures of materials in New York collections. Ulla Johnson adds decor in the form of wooden beads, thanks to which her tops resemble products in the macrame technique.
Decors: Fringe
Fringe is one of the most popular Native American decors in the Wild West style. At the last fashion week, the fringe framed both casual and evening models, and was presented in various variations: long, short, thin, thick.
Models: Cargo pants
The main feature in the designs of cargo pants models in the SS 19 season is the width of the trousers (straight or shapelessly wide). Lace, zippers, jewelry buttons are noticeable in the decor.
Models: Voluminous sleeves
Voluminous sleeves are presented in models of dresses and blouses. The sleeves of the buff in New York evoke associations with the style of the 80s or with memories of the luxury of the Victorian era.
Models: Pantsuit
Classic suits and casual STREET STYLE are an interesting combination. Such a fresh look at the stereotype-free pantsuit was presented on the catwalk in New York: a graffiti pattern on a strict pantsuit, a careless oversize shape in a model made of fine suit wool, shiny materials, a defiant purple shade.
