LONDON, ANALYSIS OF SS 19 IMPRESSIONS
Fashion theme: VICTORIANA
The style of the Victorian era is very clearly traced in the collections from ERDEM and Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. The style is expressed in such elements as voluminous sleeves, maxi dresses, delicate floral patterns, romantic bows.
Fashion theme: NEW MODERN/ethos
A new look at minimalism in the Ethos style implies laconic forms of models in sensual colors and unique handmade finishes. The color palette includes warm neutral shades. The models have clear lines, a soft cut and comfort.
Colors: BRIGHTNESS
The influence of the 80s was manifested on the podium through a bright color palette. Many London designers used neon pink, yellow and orange colors in their collections. House of Holland outshone everyone in bright pink, while David Koma and Natasha Zinko challenged the public by including fluorescent green in their collection. The final note of the show was a dress from Roksanda in the color of dragon fruit (pitaya).
Patterns: FLORA
Floral patterns in the spring-summer 2019 season resemble abstract canvases by artists. Must have season – bright colors, a combination of dark background and multicolored ornament.
Patterns: LEOPARD
Leopard is becoming one of the most important patterns of the spring-summer 2019 season. The collections feature both small and large repeating patterns. Rejina Pyo offers a combination of fuzzy dots as an update to the classic pattern.
Materials: MESH
Mesh textures were presented in all London collections. The choice of some designers fell on a large net, similar to fishermen's nets, while others preferred a small net.
Models: Men's shirt
A men's shirt can be called a simple, commercial type of assortment. The loose neat design allows you to fit the model into the wardrobe of any style, experimenting with materials, decor in the form of patch pockets and patterns.
Models: VOLUMINOUS SLEEVES
Voluminous sleeves are still the main element in the collections of designers shown in London, this is especially noticeable in references to the Victorian era. Voluminous sleeves are presented in designs of romantic dresses and blouses.
Models: PLEATED SKIRT
Pleated skirts are the focus of attention in the collections of Christopher Kane, Burberry and Toga. The length is mostly midi and maxi. Dense materials dilute models made of translucent chiffon.
Models: SHOULDER PADS
The larger the size of the shoulder pads, the better! Shoulder pads for blazers and coats are especially relevant.
