Obtaining permits for the import of goods into the territory of the Russian Federation (simplified certification) is a mandatory procedure that has recently been subjected to particularly careful control by the state. Inspections of certification bodies and certificates for goods imported into Russia are carried out, during which 2 areas of risk for importers may arise:

1) Certificates issued by bodies that have not passed verification are canceled. This means that the cancelled certificate will have to be urgently replaced by paying again for the certification procedure and simple goods at customs

2) The certificate is checked for passing real tests. The validity of the tests is confirmed by the fact of importation of samples of goods for certification purposes (which means the presence of a special DT) and test report.

If no such confirmations are found during customs, the company will not only have to pay for cargo downtime at customs, but also fines of up to 1 million rubles.
