Mikhail Manakov at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia
Aspiring Russian designer Mikhail Manakov presented his collection «And a day lasts longer than a century» at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, spring-summer 2018.
The first collection created for yourself, the first (except for the triumphant competitive show) statement about yourself in the fashion industry. Where to start your application?
For Mikhail Manakov, the path to the fashion world began with a novel by Chingiz Aitmatov, with a forgotten, but very strong thing by the Kyrgyz writer. His collection is a symbolic retelling, an author's synopsis of the legend of the slave Mankurt.
The collection is distinguished by the author's exclusive print in the form of a font "Russian script", enlarged to unreadability; the color scheme is "folklore bright scarlet, warm white, deep black and "as a confrontation" dusty swamp (khaki), beating off a clear line between "itself" in to myself » and «myself in society».
Elements of the cut of the Russian costume, brought to clean, clear lines. Constructivism as part of the Russian avant-garde style, the language of which the entire modern art world continues to speak, asserts stylishness coupled with functionality and (through basic natural fabrics: cotton, silk, wool and even denim) comfort.
The heroine of the collection is a beautiful woman who remembers the history of her people, her kind, her country, her history, who knows how to wear art on her beautiful body and even turn into a symbol of this history at the peak of a capricious fashion trend, is worthy of respect and admiration.
