TIN at the Selvedge Run exhibition
This July has become a truly landmark for the domestic fashion industry in the direction of «military. Few people undertake to recreate the types and images of Soviet military uniforms, and even more so to present their modern interpretations to the world. But the brand TIN tends to take risks.
From July 4 to July 6 in Berlin, on the territory of the old KulturBrauerei brewery, the legendary trade show Selvedge Run was held, in which a participant from Russia was presented for the first time.
Selvedge Run This is an exhibition of clothing brands, shoes, accessories and accessories with a history and national flavor, created for those who honor the traditions of cutting, weaving and sewing. This can be seen from the name of the event: the term selvedge means a method of processing the edge of denim, which is considered particularly time-consuming and costly.
This year, the event brought together manufacturers of clothing and accessories in the heritage category from Japan, the USA and European countries. Such famous brands asNigel Cabourn, Tellason Jeans, Red Wings were presented.
Sewing production as a craft art is the mission followed by all brands represented at the stands of Selvedge Run. To get into the list of participants, you must meet three main requirements:
- Strong brand DNA, taking into account cultural and national heritage in production methods, silhouettes or materials used.
- The brand's open dialogue with the audience and cultural connection with it at all stages of production, from the design of the collection to the sewing of the last button.
- Craftsmanship and passion for the details of traditional production.
It is these features that distinguish the Russian brand TIN, for whichparticipation in the Selvedge Run became a debut on the world stage and a confident bid for success.
The designers of TIN presented models from the summer and winter collections and received an incredible amount of positive feedback from the press and buyers both on the brand concept itself and on the quality and appearance of the products.The walking tin soldier the symbol of the brand did not leave anyone indifferent. Thanks to the exhibition, the clothingTIN will be presented in stores in London, Paris, Berlin and Baden. In the future, a collaboration with a French brand rethinking national work clothes, as well as the production of a limited line at a Japanese factory working exclusively on vintage equipment from a century ago.
