The Dandy Lab: The future has already arrived
On November 24, at the plenary session opening the second day of the Retail Technologies Expo2016 Congress, one of the founders of the men's fashion lab, The Dandy Lab, Peter Jeun Ho Tsang, will speak. He will analyze the main IT trends that are worth investing in for business development, and share the results of the first year of his project.
The Dandy Lab is a real store of the future. Its concept is based on the "Internet of Things" (IoT), which, according to experts, will bring multibillion-dollar income to the economy in the near future. The Dandy Lab combines a traditional fashion store with a full-fledged laboratory of innovative retail technologies.
The store was opened by Peter and Julia in London in August 2015. It occupied two floors with a total area of 1100 square meters in the very center of the city. It houses 52 British brands, more than half of which were exclusively represented at The Dandy Lab: among them Alfie Douglas, Gobi Organics, Smyth&Gibson, Shackleton, Ballanby and many others.
The project has enlisted the support of University College London.
The Dandy Lab is the most active in the market practicing the principle of an individual approach to the visitor. The founders of the project believe that the division of clients into conditional groups is not effective today, because distribution methods are often formed according to insignificant signs. Based on real data about the tastes and habits of each visitor, obtained by the creators with the help of IoT technologies that the store is equipped with, it is possible to make suitable personal offers.
The BBCG team is confident that the future lies precisely in retail, using the advantages of offline and online trading at the same time. In the process of adapting to the new requirements of the industry, retailers need to understand the value of new technologies and choose the right solutions for their business.
