Dolce & Gabbana Exhibition "Dal cuore alle mani": A love letter to Italian culture in the heart of Milan

From April 7 to August 4, 2024, an unforgettable exhibition was held in the majestic halls of the Palazzo Reale in Milan – "Dal cuore alle mani" (“From heart to Hands") from the legendary Dolce & Gabbana. This is a true declaration of love, embodied in an amazing journey through the heritage of a fashion house. The exhibition was promoted by the Milan Municipality of Culture in collaboration with IMG.

Each room of the exhibition featured unique works from the collections of Alta Moda, Alta Sartoria and Alta Gioielleria, custom-made creations by Dolce&Gabbana against the backdrop of impressive installations.

A journey from art to architecture, to different cities, from topography to music, from ballet to opera — each theme is simultaneously rooted in the deep love of the two founders for traditional Italian craftsmanship and a passion for hedonism.

Art and fashion historian Florence Muller worked closely with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to bring the exhibition to life: “We started by exploring the history and archives, exploring what has been preserved, the heritage of the fashion house, as well as discussions with designers, understanding their expressions and intentions. I believe that Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are among the designers most inspired by Italian culture and art, and those who represent them most faithfully.”

The exhibition also includes works by artists created in dialogue with the famous creations of Dolce & Gabbana. In the self-portraits of the artist An Duong, she is depicted in the most iconic creations of the two designers. The meeting of haute couture and painting in the exhibition D&G demonstrates the culmination of the dialogue between them and the brand's openness to experimentation.

Well, the rebellious spirit of the project did not leave indifferent connoisseurs of high fashion and art lovers. Fans lined up in long queues even with an appointment, eager to get to the exhibition, and their social networks were filled with admiring reviews and vivid photos that amazed subscribers.

The exhibition confirms the importance of the past and its influence on modernity, which makes it an important cultural event.
